Pixi Beauty Gel Liner
I’m about to make a very bold statement, so brace yourselves. Ready? Ok, here goes: this is my new favorite gel liner. Ya, I said it.
This came in the mail yesterday along with a few other goodies I got from the Pixi/POP beauty sale on Hautelook and to be honest I wasn’t expecting to like it this much since it was kind of an impulse buy. Regularly priced at $18.00, these were going for $4.50 so I picked up two thinking it would make a nice base for my black smokey eye if nothing else. Then I tried it out this morning and was pretty much blown away by the sheer awesomeness of this product.
I was initially impressed by the gel’s intense color pay-off and rich, velvety texture. It glides across the eyelids easily and the color is vibrant with just one sweep. Even more impressive is the staying power. I did my makeup at 7:30am – it’s now 12:06am and my eyeliner is right where I put it this morning. I’m pretty shocked considering it’s allergy season and my eyes were watering pretty much all day.
Though I prefer using my Sonia Kashuk angled brush for gel liner application, the little brush included in the brush is actually not bad. As you can see above, it’s flat shape makes it easy to do a fine line or a thick one.
Now that I’m completely in love with this stuff, I can’t wait for it to be back on Hautelook so I can stock up again. Thank the good lawd I was smart enough to buy two this time!
Final Verdict: LOVE IT
Price: $18, or $4.50 on Hautelook

Pink Sugar Hair Perfume
It’s no secret Pink Sugar is one of my favorite scents of all time, so when I found out they made a hair perfume I just had to add it to my collection. At first I was worried it was a waste of $15 as I’ve been using the body splash in my hair, but I feel like the high alcohol content was drying out my shiny curls so I tried this out as an alternative.
Though it does contain alcohol, it’s considerably less potent than the regular perfume products and contains silicone to add shine and moisture to the hair. The first thing I noticed upon spraying this onto my hair is the consistency felt more like a spray on shine serum then a perfume. And much to my surprise it did add a good amount of shine and softness to my hair. Not to mention it smells amazing without being too overpowering. Nothing says “ew” quite like sitting next to someone who just sprayed a gallon of knock off Obsession onto their hair on a hot day, so I’m glad for this has such a delicate fragrance. Like the fragrance, this smells like cotton candy, fresh berries and vanilla, but the scents seem to blend together a little more. While Pink Sugar’s strongest note is cotton candy, this one gives off a little more of the berries resulting in a softer fragrance.
So this has nothing to do with hair or perfume, but the picture of the baby on the back of the bottle makes me laugh every time I see it. Especially the placement of his hands. It’s like he’s saying “oh no, this isn’t milk!” Right before the baby starts stumbling around because the alcohol got him drink, of course. Ah, drunk babies. Always a good time.
Final Verdict: Love it!

BTW- I know a lot of people – including myself – have been search for the Pink Sugar website for ages with no luck. Last night I finally did a little research and tracked it down. I had to go to the Aquolina site (which is all written in Italian!) and keep clicking until I found something. And I did! You’re welcome =)
Hautelook Haul Fun!
Nothing brightens up an otherwise drab day quite like a few packages from my favorite place to shop online. I ordered these items over the past few weeks, but they all showed up on the same day which in a way felt like my own little mini-Christmas. Except it’s hot out, I’m sweating bullets and I had to buy my own gifts. Not quite as magical as the holidays, but still pretty awesome. For me, pretty much any day I get new bling is a great day!
I hit up the Crown Brush sale and picked up the special edition pink brush set as well as a crease brush since those are practical things I need for my tutorials. The sparkly pink ring and blinged out tape measure/flashlight set came from the Bling Event sale and and are also practical – at least that’s how I justified it to myself and my debit card lol.
I got the Crown Brush Special Edition 12-peice Brush Set for $25, and I’m really satisfied with the overall look and quality of these brushes. Not to mention they’re super cute!
This Deluxe Pointed Crease Brush, also from Crown Brush, was a steal at just $4.00. I’ve been looking for something fluffy that was a little more tapered at the end and this fits the bill perfectly.
The moment I saw this pink cocktail ring with Swarovski elements on the Bling Event I knew I had to have it. I paid $18.95 for this and the sparkle this thing generates in the sun makes it worth every penny. Plus, it matches my nails =)
You’re probably thinking to yourself, “Jackie, what the hell do you need a bedazzled tape measure for?” My question is, why WOULDN’T I need a bedazzled tape measure? I like to measure stuff just as much as the next guy, so I may as well do it in style.
And with that my beloved readers, I bid you goodnight. Gotta get up early to make that money. The bling won’t buy itself!
So Many Pretty Little Things…
My mom and stepdad went on vacation to Hawaii recently and much to my delight returned with lots and lots of pretty little gifts for me. I don’t care how old I get, nothing gets me more excited then a big bag full of presents!
No trip to Hawaii is complete unless you bring back some standard Hawaiian goodies for your loved ones: shell necklaces, a love bracelet and a bottle of water so pretty I don’t think I’ll ever be able to drink it.
My mom got me this lovely flower hairclip, and to be honest it’s so pretty I thought it was a real flower at first. I love the color especially, as the yellow really pops against my onyx black hair. I keep trying to think of an excuse to wear this, but I may have to stop looking for a special occasion and wear it just because.
If ever there were a perfect gift for someone like me, this would be it. My stepdad found me this bedazzled flask, and it’s so amazing it brings a tear to my eye. It’s covered in rhinestones and holds booze, for crying out loud! Is there anything more amazing in the universe? I think not.
Mom got me this little keychain, and it makes me giggle every time I see it because this looks like a canine version of me – dressed up in pink and covered in bling.
During one of their many shopping trips, mom discovered Lush for the first time and picked up their Shimmy, Shimmy Solid Body Tint for me. This is basically a higlight for the body, and leaves skin soft and shimmery. It smells super good too, like flowers and vanilla.
Over the years, my mom has not only accepted my obsession with gaudy jewelry, she supports it. Which is why she picked me up these three huge, amazingly sparkly baubles. And yes, I do wear them all at the same time. And you know this!
While I would have rather been in Hawaii sipping pina coladas on the beach, this stash of souvenirs makes me feel a little better about the fact I spent last week working in a cubicle instead of a tropical paradise. But man could I use an exotic vacation!

Hello faithful readers; welcome to a very special edition of monthly favorites. But Jackie, aren’t they all special? Yes, yes they are. But this month is even more special, because I hated lots of stuff too. And I know how you kids just love to watch me throw stuff =)
