Too Faced Natural at Night Palette

I’ve been on the fence about getting this palette for a while- mainly because I had my sites set on the Naked 2 palette and couldn’t justify getting both. I’ve gone back and forth on which to get for at least a month, but then I saw Emilynoel83′s last video – a tutorial using the Natural at Night palette- and that pretty much made my decision for me.

And I’m glad to say, I have no regrets.

I paid $35 for this collection of shadows, which is pretty standard for a more high end brand. Especially considering the fancy-pants packaging the more expensive brands use. I personally love the way Too Faced packages their eyeshadow palettes because it’s compact, fits in your purse and protect your investment from breaking. Few things in this world are more frustrating than finding a shadow I love, only to have it break in my purse due to the flimsy packaging.

Now for the good stuff, the colors! This palette features three different looks: Fashion, Classic and Night. I’ve tried out all three and so far I love all of the, but the real fun will start when I start mixing and matching colors.

Another thing I love about Too Faces is how the palettes all come with these instruction cards to help you get started. It’s perfect for those who are less experience with makeup, or maybe just need a little help getting started.

This is the Night collection. From left to right, the colors are: Full moon, Nightcap, Cocoa Star.

This is the Classic collection. From left to right, the colors are: Night Light, After Hours, Eclipse.

Finally, this is the Fashion collection. Colors from left to right are: Spotlight, Moon Stone and Night Fever.

So far my favorite is the Night look, which I’m wearing right now. It’s still early and I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments on my eyeshadow, which is great cuz it distracts my co-workers from the bad hair day I’m having. So far, I think I made the right choice in going for the Naked at Night palette – and I saved myself $15 since the Naked 2 palette is going for $50!

Hard Candy Haul

I stopped by Walmart on my way home for some hair gel and decided to check out the Hard Candy display since I haven’t check it out in a while, and was surprised to see a ton of new products. It was hard to narrow it down to just a few items, so I decided to pick up a little bit of everything.

I couldn’t believe how many new kinds of mascara they had. When last I checked, all they offered was Lash Tinsel, but this time I counted at least nine different kinds. This one caught my eye because I love big, voluminous lashes. And ok, fine, the packaging is cute. It get’s me every time! ($7)

I was so excited to see they had a fiber mascara I just had to get it. It’s pretty cheap at $7 each, and I saw a pretty decent amount of fibers on the brush so I figured it was worth a try. The packaging is also really interesting: I’ve never seen a tube of mascara that is actually a tube before.

These Glossaholic lipglosses really caught my eye because they are so friggin sparkly. The glitter pieces are really large and kind of reminds me of MAC Super Dazzleglass, but it’s only $5. I got the colors Tipsy (fuchsia) and Fireball (hot red) to start with, but if I like them I’ll be sure to pick up a few other colors.

Hard Candy now offers cleansing products, which includes these face wipes. I decided to give them a try, tho I’m a little skeptical since I love my Clean & Clear wipes so much. I guess we’ll see tonight when I wash my face.

I’ll post a review of this stuff next week when I’ve had a chance to play with it all. Can’t wait, it’s my favorite part of this beauty blogging job =)

Fabulous Bag, Fabulous Price.

The only thing I love more than a fabulous bag is a fabulous bag at a great price. I was at OffBroadway this evening and spotted this BigBuddah JReo bag on my way out of the store. I was five seconds away from leaving without spending any money, but this Missoni-like pattern caught my eye and wouldn’t let go. The bag originally retailed for $90, but OffBrodway was selling it for $69.90. That’s still way more than I wanted to spend, but luckily I had all my register rewards coupons with me and by the time I redeemed them all I ended up getting the bag for get this – $24.49!

I love everything about this bag – it’s classy and big enough to fit the abundance of stuff I carry with me every day. And I love the pattern, which is basically Missoni style without the Missoni price. Oh, and it’s shiny. That always helps too =)

At first I couldn’t figure out what all the extra hooks were for, so I looked up the bag on the BigBuddah website and whaddaya know, it’s a two-fer! With a few minor adjustments it turns into a shoulder bag that’s big enough to double as a weekender.

Suffice it to say, this was a steal! I can’t wait to wear this bag out tomorrow with my new Steve Madden wedges =)
