Fabulous Fall Shoes Haul!

Before you wonder if I went a little overboard with the fall shoe shopping, allow me to answer your question. Yes, yes I did. And I’m not even a little bit sorry. For in a world of wrong, shoes are often times the only things that are right. Especially when it’s a pair so studded boots or brown suede wedges.

Now, before I get into the haul, let me first explain what I look for in a shoe. Height is usually the first thing I consider as I am short (barely 5’4) and rely on the extra height to elongate my frame. I also look for comfort, as I have a wide foot and find that many shoes tend to pinch, thus making me walk in an unattractive, chicken-headed fashion. When it comes to boots, I also look for extra room in the calf since I also have larger calves. Yes, I won the genetic lottery there, didn’t I?

While these issues make it slightly harder to find shoes, it’s never impossible. I just have to look a little harder. Here are my finds for fall – all are affordable, all are comfortable and of course, all are fabulous!

Bucco Boots for Fall = ♥

Over the past month I’ve amassed quite a collection of fabulous fall boots, but so far these Bucco Odelia Wedge Sneakers are the crown jewel. I scored these for $38 (reg. $64) on Hautelook and was delighted to find they are even lovelier in person than I could have ever imagined.

A three-inch wedge heel, stud detailing and adjustable straps make these easily the coolest looking pair of shoes I own. And don’t even get me started on the compliments. I wore them for the first time today and got tons of questions from girls wanting to know where they could find a pair of their own.

Because the straps are adjustable, these are the perfect boots for people like me who have wider feet and therefore can’t wear narrow shoes. I also love how the fabric has a distressed leather feel, making them an edgy way to step into Autumn.

I la-la-looooove the way these look from behind! I really hate when I buy shoes with some kind of adornment (studs, rhinestones etc…) and they only go around the front leaving the back looking plain and boring. These are fabulous from all angles – just like me! (haha!)

I should probably also mention the most important detail – and that is how comfortable these are. The insoles are well-cushioned and offer a decent amount of arch support, making them easy to walk in. I wore them for over 9 hours today and my feet didn’t hurt one bit. They’re so amazing I hope Hautelook features them again so I can get them in other colors ♥

Italian for “Sexy Shoes”

The moment I saw these drop dead gorgeous Italian wedges on Hauetlook, I knew they had to be mine. I’ve been trying to limit my shoe spending lately, but it’s not every day I find jewel encrusted Bucco Cara peeptoe wedges so I figured I would dip into the piggy bank for these.

I know these look really high – and they are – but you know I wouldn’t have it any other way. The heel measures 6 inches which sounds uncomfortable, but the 2 inch platform makes these surprisingly easy to walk in. I also love how the gold painted wedge looks a little distressed.

I la-la-loooove the way the big jewels look against the canvas. It dresses down the shoes just enough that you can wear them every day with jeans and not look mismatched. I wore them last week with dark denim and a black lacey top and the look was glam but not over the top.

The best part is I got them for just $20 – more than $60 off the original price! And people wonder why I’m so obsessed with Hautelook.

Glitter Sneakers – DIY

I found a gorgeous pair of blinged out Rock and Candy sneaker wedges on Hautelook a few weeks ago and was bummed out to find they had sold out of my size by the time I logged on. They did had a similar, non-blinged out version however, so I decided to pick them up and bling them out myself.

These are the ZIGIny Lulu Jungle sneaker wedges in Crocodile. I picked these because I love the crocodile print as well as the neutral colors, tho truth be told I really hated the orange on the wedge. Since I love gold glitter, I decided to cover up the road-sign orange color with gold glitter, and this is what I got!

I coated all the orange parts in gold and glitter, then painted some of the crocodile print gold to tie it all together. I love these even more then the original blinged out shoes I wanted!

It took me a while to figure out how to cover up all the orange and get the glitter to stay. I own many pairs of glittery shoes so I know they’re notorious for glitter fallout. I personally don’t mind having glitter all over my floor but a lot of my friends feel differently, so I had to find a way to get the glitter to stick.

The answer was simple, and best of all I already had everything I needed in my beauty cabinet. I know it sounds strange, but the nail polish worked perfectly and the glitter hasn’t moved!

How I did it:

1. I laid down two coats of a solid gold polish (I used Ulta Salon Formula Nail Lacquer in High Roller) letting the polish dry for a day or so between coats to avoid streaking when I put the glitter polish over it.

2. I followed with two coats of gold glitter polish (I used Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Color in Big Money) again letting the polish dry for a day between coats. I finished with Ulta Salon Nail Top Coat to seal the glitter polish and smooth it out.

3. I then took an eyeliner brush and lightly traced over the crocodile pattern with High Roller. I was careful to use a light hand as I didn’t wanna completely cover up the pattern.

And viola! My wedge sneakers are now glittery, gorgeous and get tons of compliments!

Steve Madden Glitter Boots Make Me Happy ♥

I got these boots in the mail today and despite some work stress – not to mention a bad pasta induced tummy ache – they made me giddy as a school girl. Originally, these retailed for about $169 but I found them on Hautelook a few weeks ago for $69. I know I vowed not to get any new shoes for a while considering I received so many for Christmas, but this deal was just too good to pass up. And I mean really, have you guys ever known me to pass on a discounted pair of glittery Steve Madden’s? Ya, I thought not.

This style, called “Hastt,” pairs glitter and suede for a glam but not gaudy look. I especially love the peep-toe because I’ll be able to wear these boots well into spring.

The heel is nearly 5′ which didn’t seem all that high until I actually stood up and realized I could see over the top of my cubicle. Given how tall these are, they’re surprisingly comfortable thanks to the 1.5′ platform which takes a little pressure off the arch of the foot.

This little buckle detail gives the shoe a touch of class without adding too much. Which is good, considering these sky-high, glitter encrusted heels already have so much going on.

And in case you were wondering, yes I did plan tomorrow’s ensemble around these boots. If I have time in the morning I’ll snap a few pics for an outfit of the day post, but I’m thinking dark jeans, a grey cardigan and a lacy black cami will give my new Steve Maddens a chance to shine =)
