Pixi Beauty Gel Liner

I’m about to make a very bold statement, so brace yourselves. Ready? Ok, here goes: this is my new favorite gel liner. Ya, I said it.

This came in the mail yesterday along with a few other goodies I got from the Pixi/POP beauty sale on Hautelook and to be honest I wasn’t expecting to like it this much since it was kind of an impulse buy. Regularly priced at $18.00, these were going for $4.50 so I picked up two thinking it would make a nice base for my black smokey eye if nothing else. Then I tried it out this morning and was pretty much blown away by the sheer awesomeness of this product.

I was initially impressed by the gel’s intense color pay-off and rich, velvety texture. It glides across the eyelids easily and the color is vibrant with just one sweep. Even more impressive is the staying power. I did my makeup at 7:30am – it’s now 12:06am and my eyeliner is right where I put it this morning. I’m pretty shocked considering it’s allergy season and my eyes were watering pretty much all day.

Though I prefer using my Sonia Kashuk angled brush for gel liner application, the little brush included in the brush is actually not bad. As you can see above, it’s flat shape makes it easy to do a fine line or a thick one.

Now that I’m completely in love with this stuff, I can’t wait for it to be back on Hautelook so I can stock up again. Thank the good lawd I was smart enough to buy two this time!

Final Verdict: LOVE IT
Price: $18, or $4.50 on Hautelook

Too Faced Natural at Night Palette

I’ve been on the fence about getting this palette for a while- mainly because I had my sites set on the Naked 2 palette and couldn’t justify getting both. I’ve gone back and forth on which to get for at least a month, but then I saw Emilynoel83′s last video – a tutorial using the Natural at Night palette- and that pretty much made my decision for me.

And I’m glad to say, I have no regrets.

I paid $35 for this collection of shadows, which is pretty standard for a more high end brand. Especially considering the fancy-pants packaging the more expensive brands use. I personally love the way Too Faced packages their eyeshadow palettes because it’s compact, fits in your purse and protect your investment from breaking. Few things in this world are more frustrating than finding a shadow I love, only to have it break in my purse due to the flimsy packaging.

Now for the good stuff, the colors! This palette features three different looks: Fashion, Classic and Night. I’ve tried out all three and so far I love all of the, but the real fun will start when I start mixing and matching colors.

Another thing I love about Too Faces is how the palettes all come with these instruction cards to help you get started. It’s perfect for those who are less experience with makeup, or maybe just need a little help getting started.

This is the Night collection. From left to right, the colors are: Full moon, Nightcap, Cocoa Star.

This is the Classic collection. From left to right, the colors are: Night Light, After Hours, Eclipse.

Finally, this is the Fashion collection. Colors from left to right are: Spotlight, Moon Stone and Night Fever.

So far my favorite is the Night look, which I’m wearing right now. It’s still early and I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments on my eyeshadow, which is great cuz it distracts my co-workers from the bad hair day I’m having. So far, I think I made the right choice in going for the Naked at Night palette – and I saved myself $15 since the Naked 2 palette is going for $50!

Review- Laura Geller Inkwell Gel Liner Duo for BeautyStat.com

My friends at BeautyStat.com asked me to review this ultra fabulous new eyeliner by Laura Geller and I was more than happy to take them up on the offer. I’ve always loved Laura Geller’s baked products, so I knew the eyeliner would be just as amazing.

This stunning liner duo comes with a matte black shade as well as a rich purple. These look gorgeous alone, or layered over one another for a more intense effect.

I had to get an up-close shot of these because I love them so much. Especially the purple liner, since the color is so multifaceted. If you look closely, you can see little flecks of pink in the gel.

The cap to these liners is absolutely genius. As you can see, it comes apart revealing a small, fine tip brush that can be used to apply the eyeliner. I love this since it eliminates the need for me to carry yet another brush in my makeup bag.

If you need a longer handle, you can even put the cap back together to make a full sized brush.

This is by far the best gel liner I’ve ever used, and once these are done I absolutely plan on repurchasing this. It’s long wearing, fabulous and it doesn’t irritate my eyes when I use it for tight-lining. It’s not available in stores just yet, but you can get it on QVC for about $30.
