Laura Geller Fresh Brewed Beauty Review & Tutorial

I got this gorgeous collection the other day for review and opening the package made me realize why I love this whole beauty blogging gig so much. Not only do I get to try all kinds of new goodies, but I get them before anyone else. Squeeeeeeee!

Ok, ok all giddiness aside – this collection is pretty amazing. In this cleverly packaged kit is a baked foundation, highlighter, blush, eye shadow palette, lipgloss and sponge tip applicator. It’s pretty much a complete look in a coffee bag, which I find delightfully clever considering the products are infused with caffeine and arabica coffee extracts. The value totals $145, but QVC is offering it for $54.98 which is totally worth it when you consider how much you would pay for a single foundation or blush.

This baked foundation offers amazing coverage and the color (Tan) is perfect. So perfect in fact that I’m unable to swatch it as it blends so seamlessly into my skin. It’s also non-drying which is great since I tend to have that issue when it comes to dry foundations.

I normally go for blushes that have at least a little shimmer, but this matte (Mauve Mocha Latte) is so lovely I can’t help but love it. The shade is just dark enough to add color to my tan skin tone but just light enough that I don’t look like a creepy doll.

I’ve never seen a matte highlighter before so I’m surprised at how nice this really is. Generally highlights contain sparkle which is what gives skin a glow, but this achieves the same thing with a more creamy, glowing look.

The eyeshadow palette, called Espresso Yourself, contains three colors: a light beige (lid), a mid-tone beige (crease) and a dark brown shade (outter v). What I really like about this is unlike other palettes, the small compact shape fits in a small makeup bag.

The gloss included in the collection (cafe au lait) is highly pigmented, long wearing and blends really well with lipliner and/or lipstick. I like to wear it with a nude lipliner and the color lasts for hours, plus it’s non-sticky.

If you’re on the fence about adding this kit to your collection, I say it’s definitely worth the money. And FYI, QVC is featuring this collection as it’s Today’s Special Value Sunday thru Monday, so if you order before Monday 9/24 at 11:59pm you’ll get it for $49.98!

Review- Laura Geller Inkwell Gel Liner Duo for BeautyStat.com

My friends at BeautyStat.com asked me to review this ultra fabulous new eyeliner by Laura Geller and I was more than happy to take them up on the offer. I’ve always loved Laura Geller’s baked products, so I knew the eyeliner would be just as amazing.

This stunning liner duo comes with a matte black shade as well as a rich purple. These look gorgeous alone, or layered over one another for a more intense effect.

I had to get an up-close shot of these because I love them so much. Especially the purple liner, since the color is so multifaceted. If you look closely, you can see little flecks of pink in the gel.

The cap to these liners is absolutely genius. As you can see, it comes apart revealing a small, fine tip brush that can be used to apply the eyeliner. I love this since it eliminates the need for me to carry yet another brush in my makeup bag.

If you need a longer handle, you can even put the cap back together to make a full sized brush.

This is by far the best gel liner I’ve ever used, and once these are done I absolutely plan on repurchasing this. It’s long wearing, fabulous and it doesn’t irritate my eyes when I use it for tight-lining. It’s not available in stores just yet, but you can get it on QVC for about $30.
