Ultra Fabulous Haul – Coach, Betsey Johnson, Roxy & More!

I’m tax refund rich, ya’ll!

Ok, maybe not “rich,” per-say, but doing well enough to buy a few fun little extras this month and still have enough for rent, bills and all my other less than awesome expenses. I originally planned on allowing myself just one indulgence – the gorgeous Coach bag seen in the video – but it somehow turned into a landslide of handbags and bling. I personally blame the people at DSW, Hautelook and Ulta for having so many irresistible sales on things I just can’t say no to. Did they really expect me to walk away from an ivory Betsey Johnson tote and not buy it? I’m only human, people!

Since I’m sure you’re all dying to get some of these items yourselves, I’ll post all the links and information you need below. And if anyone gives you any grief over your recent shopping indiscretions, just tell em’ Jackie made you do it. I’m more than willing to take the blame if it means the world will be a more fabulous place ;)

Product Rave – theBalm Balms Away Eye Makeup Break-up

I’m a huge fan of theBalm, so I make sure to stock up on my favorite palettes, polishes and blushes every time they have a sale on Hautelook. This product was new to me, but I decided to give it a try anyway since it was on sale and I’m always in the market for a good eye-makeup remover. All I have to say is OH-EM-GEE, how did I ever live without this stuff?

Fortified with vitamins, plant-based lipids and other magical ingredients, this balm removes even the heaviest eye make-up with virtually no effort. I used it for the first time a few minutes ago and was so amazed I practically ran to my computer to write this blog post. Eye makeup remover is kind of a big deal for me since I wear lots of waterproof eyeliner and mascara, which can be a real pain to remove. Especially without damaging the delicate skin around the eye with the constant rubbing when using less effective cleansers. Not only is it painful, but it causes premature aging and as someone who is constantly waging a war against crowsfeet, that just ain’t the business.

What makes this product so unique is it’s texture, which glides on like butter – I literally rubbed a teeny amount of the balm on my eyelid and wiped away all traces of eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara with just a few swipes. Now that I’ve found this, I really don’t see the point of using anything else as I’d be hard pressed to find a better product. It’s a tad expensive ( $20 for 2.2oz), but when you consider how little product you need to get the job done AND how much money it’ll save you on Botox in the future, it’s a worthwhile investment. Especially considering you can get it on Hautelook for $10, which is even cheaper than most drugstore makeup removers.

Final Verdict: La-la-la-loooooooove it!
Price: $20 (or $10 during Hautelook sales)

Hautelook Haul ft. theBalm Cosmetics

I’ve been a huge fan of theBalm since I met creator Marissa Shipman at a Beautylish event several years ago, so when Hautelook hosted a sale a few weeks ago I jumped at the chance to try a few products at a way discounted price.

Since I already own most of the palettes and complexion products, I decided to try something new and go for the mascara, eyeliner, lipgloss and lipstick. And not surprisingly, all are amazing. Not to mention the packaging is super cute. Again, no surprise there as theBalm is pretty well-known for sexy, pin-up style packaging.

Since I’m such a mascara junkie, I picked up the What’s Your Type mascara in The Body Builder, which is the volumizing formula. So far I like it a lot; it coats the lashes evenly, creating volume without clumps. It’s also great for layering if you want a more dramatic look. And at $9.50 (reg. $19) it was a hell of a deal for a luxury brand.

Always a fan of liquid liner, I also got the Schwing black liquid eyeliner, and omg it’s amaaaaazing! The color is rich, dark and velvety while the formula is long lasting. The tip is also super fine, which makes winged liner looks super easy. These normally run for $17, but I got mine for $8.50, which is even cheaper than the drugstore brands I normally buy. It’s such a deal I almost feel like I stole something, which you all know I would never do. *puts hands in pockets, walks away whistling*

I’ve been wearing their lipgloss for a while, so I knew this one was a safe bet. And the color is gorgeous. As you can tell from the swatch it’s very sheer, but over red or burgundy lipstick it is sexxxxeeeeeh!

The one thing I hadn’t tried before is theBalm Girl’s lipstick, so I picked one up in the shade Anita Boytoy. And can I just say- OMG! I am in loooooooooove with this color. It looks so sexy, and though it’s not glittery it has a kind of iridescent shimmer that makes lips stand out in a subtle way. Regularly $17, I got this one for just $8.50!

Once again theBalm has impressed me with their products and I’m certain these will all find their way into my permanent rotation. Not to mention it’s easily the sexiest cosmetics brand out there, which is right up my alley!

♡the Balm♡ Haul and Review

Last week I received the most amazing package of goodies from theBalm cosmetics, and I’ve been hooked on them since. I’ve always liked theBalm, but I had only really used their concealers and mini brushes. Then I had the pleasure of meeting owner and founder Marissa Shipman as well as a few members of her lovely team at the Beautylish Spring event and she mentioned sending me a few products to try out. And boy did she! In my package I had everything from rich, velvety eyeshadows to the most amazing blushes this side of Nars. Check out my haul/review video below, and check back in a few days for product swatches!
