Clean and Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes

Face wipes are an important part of my nightly skin care routine because it’s the best way to remove makeup and prep my skin for moisturizer. I have a few brands I tend to alternate between on a regular basis – mainly Neutrogena and Yes to Cucumbers- but these Clean & Clear towelettes have quickly become my new favorite.

I got these at Target for $5.29, which is a fairly good price except for the fact the package only comes with 25 wipes. Most other brands have 30, so I was a little butthurt about getting five less wipes. I know it’s only five, but still – that’s five days worth of cleansing. Luckily for the people at Clean and Clear the product is exceptional enough that I can get over getting cheated out of that much product.

The magic of these wipes is in the texture of the sheet itself, as you can see from this here handy dandy photo I included for your viewing pleasure. The wipes are soft, but the teeny little holes seem to help them swipe all that yucky makeup right off your face. They also smell surprisingly pleasant considering the packaging says it “dissolves makeup,” which makes me think they would smell more like some sort of industrial solvent than a skin care product.

When they say these things dissolve makeup, they really dissolve makeup. One wipe takes every last bit of makeup, dirt and oil off my face – even all my eye makeup. That’s no easy feat considering how much black eyeliner and mascara I pile on, as you can see from the wipe I used last night. It’s kinda funny how the makeup looks so fabulous on the face, yet it looks so gross when you look at whats left on a cleansing towelette. It almost makes me wanna stop wearing makeup. Almost.

My favorite thing about these is how cool, refreshed and clean my skin feels afterwards. The biggest test of their cleansing power however comes the next morning. Other cleansing wipes tend to leave a little mascara underneath my eyes, which usually ends up on my pillow-case. With these however, not a trace!

So to sum it: clean skin, clean pillow cases. What more can one ask for in a cleansing wipe?

Final Verdict: Love it.

Yummy Fall Scents From Philosophy♥

It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with fall, and naturally that obsession includes the scents that come along with this magical time. Autumn leaves, pumpkin spice and candy corn are scents I wait for all year – and now thanks to Philosophy I get to smell like them all day.

Philosophy is well known for introducing a ton of new scents every season, and while they have a variety of offerings this fall (including caramel apple and crispy marshmallow bar) these two are my favorites:

I Love Candy Corn – It’s funny, cuz I actually DO love candy corn. For most people it’s just something they use for decorative purposes and throw away afterward. To me however the sugary, melty treat is something that tastes as good as it smells. This shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath smells exactly like the candy – to the point where if I didn’t have such a weak tummy I would try to drink it. I’ve seen a few similar products out there, but this one by far smells the best thanks to the hint of caramel that really brings out the sweetness, giving Philosophy’s version a warm aroma that is absolutely delicious. It smells so good I can’t wait to wake up at the ungodly time of 6:30am just because I know this will be waiting for me in the shower. I REALLY wish they would make this one into a body lotion!

Autumn Air- This fruity, slightly spicy scent reminds me of a warm cup of cider on a chilly fall evening. Of all the fall scents I’ve tried, this one is by far the most unique as it manages to combine tangerine with cinnamon and nutmeg to create a sweet yet spicy aroma that’s more far more inviting than many of the more overwhelming fall scents. It may be a little too spicy to use as a shampoo, but I’m thinking this used as a bubble bath complete with candles and a glass of Riesling sounds like the perfect way to end a long day at the office.

Philosophy also offers a Harvest Spice scent which I like, but more as a home scent rather than a body one. I almost wish they would offer this one as a scented candle so I could enjoy it without walking around smelling like the Pottery Barn. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Pottery Barn I just don’t wanna smell like it!

Have any of you tried the scents yet? I love them so much I may just have to go back and get a few for my mom as well!

Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Concealer Review

I’m fully aware this product is designed for women in their 40s, which I am not. But I’m all about the anti-aging products so I decided to set the fact I’m only 31 aside long enough to give this product a try. And I’m glad I did, because I absolutely love it.

I first heard about the Simply Ageless line courtesy of my comedic hero Ellen DeGeneres, who so enthusiastically talks about how young and flawless it makes her skin look in the Covergirl commercials. So when I saw it on sale at Ulta a month ago, I decided to try it out. Because if Ellen likes it, surely I will to. Granted, she’s getting paid millions to like it and I’m not, but that’s besides the point.

Made with Olay Regenerist Serum -this lightweight concealer “stays suspended over fine lines,” thus diminishing the appearance of those pesky crows feet and other wrinkles. It won’t completely erase them – it’s not Botox in a jar or anything – but it really does do a better job of covering up age related imperfections than other products I’ve tried. I also really love the texture – it’s super creamy without being too greasy which makes it really easy to blend while still staying in place throughout the day. And I have to admit, I’m surprised to have found a shade that matches my skin so well. I usually need to mix at least two colors together to get a decent match, but the 220 Medium/Dark suits my olive-tan skin perfectly.

Price wise it’s a little expensive for a drug store concealer – about $11.99 – but you can usually find it on sale for much cheaper. I paid $8.99 for mine, but I’ve seen it as cheap as $7.99. To me this is totally worth it even at full price, so I plan to continue using it. I may even try out the foundation since I love the concealer so much. Either way, as per usual, Ellen didn’t steer me wrong!

Verdict: LOVE IT!
