Favorite Beauty Products – April

Another month, another excuse to shop so I can make an awesome favorites video! I gotta admit, this may be my favorite kind of video to make, because feel I like it justifies my shopping habit. Nothing quiets a shopping killjoy better than saying “hey man, it’s for my job!” Really though, I don’t shop for pleasure, I shop to keep my readers and viewers informed. It’s more like a labor of love, really. Not convinced, huh? Ya, neither was anyone else hahaha.

In any case, here’s what I loved for the month of April!

Products Mentioned:
Aveeno POSITIVELY RADIANT Intensive Night Cream $16.99
CoverFX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment $38
Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal 24 Hour Cream Gel Eye Shadow- Inked in Pink, Gold Rush – $6.99
Aqualillies for Tarte Amazonian clay waterproof eye and cheek palette $38
NYX Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil- Peacock $4.99
NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luz Collection – Glam Azure $5.50
L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Eyeshadow – Smoldering Plum, Midnight Blue $7.95

Beauty Things I Suck at!

People tend to think because I’m a beauty blogger/beauty guru, I know it all when it comes to beauty. Well, that’s only partly true (haha!). Like any normal gal, there are things I’m good at, and things I’m not so good at. This tag talks about the things I just can’t seem to master, no matter how hard I try. I really enjoyed making this tag video because I think it’s a fun way to show you all that even the “experts” have issues with this stuff sometimes, too. Enjoy!

Wanna do this fun tag too? Go for it, then post it as a video response to my video (on YouTube, not here), so all my subscribers can see. It’s a great way to get exposure, and a fun way to interact with fellow YouTubers like me!

Escada Cherry in the Air Review

The only thing I look forward to around this time of year is the new Escada spring/summer scent. I know a lot of winter-haters may think that sounds crazy, but as someone who suffers from severe allergies, I loath spring. While some hear the word spring and think of flowers, sunshine and frolicking in the meadow, I think of sneezing, congestion and runny mascara. It’s not a pretty picture, I can assure you.

What is pretty, oh so very pretty, is Escada’s offering for spring/summer 2013, called Cherry in the Air. To sum this review up: IT SMELLS SO GOOD.

I was a little worried when I heard the name, since I immediately thought it would smell more like the Cherry Blossom scents at places like The Body Shop and Bath & Body Works, but it couldn’t be more different. Light, fruity and divine, it’s one of Escada’s best scents in years, and that’s saying a lot, because I love pretty much any scent they put out.

As per usual, Escada pulled out all the stops with this fragrance, from the lovely Parisian packaging, to the adorable bottle that comes adorned with a sweet little bow with a cherry in the middle. So cute.

Check out the full review below, and see why this is the must have scent for spring and summer!

Holiday Red Lips with Gold Flecks ♥

In the second installment of my holiday inspired series, I decided to do a sultry red lip with delicate gold flecks. I figure if there’s any time to wear red lips, it’s the holidays – plus the gold gives just the right amount of festive flare. Not to be confused with pieces of flare, or course. Although, when you consider how much bling I wear on a daily basis, I’m pretty much a giant, walking piece of flare.

In any case, check out the tutorial below to get these luscious holiday lips, then read on after the jump for a list of the products I used as well as some less expensive duplicates =)

Products Used:

Revlon Photoready Concealer (as a base)
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Lipliner – Gash (Revlon Colorstay Lipliner in Red is a good, less expensive dupe for this one)
NYX Lipliner – Currant (Outline)
MAC Lipstick – Russian Red (L’Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick in Ravishing Red is also a great color and it costs half as much)
Philosophy Lipgloss - Candy Cane (any clear gloss will due, this just happens to be what I had on hand)
LORAC 3D Liquid Lustre (you can pretty much use any gold pigment, eye shadow or glitter as long as it’s cosmetic grade)
